Train collides with pickup at Fremont crossing

FREMONT -- A CSX train collided with a pickup truck on Saturday night in Fremont. The driver of the truck was unharmed, but a pedestrian was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
The collision happened at the intersection of the 100 block of W. South Street and the 300 block of S. Wilson Street at 8:05 p.m.
A blue Chevy S10 truck sustained significant damage to its rear passenger side, resulting in the tire coming off. The truck was pulled from the ditch at 9:20 p.m. Officers on the scene, who asked not to be named, said the train was not going over 35 mph. They gave no further details but said the investigation is ongoing.
