A Goldsboro man on his way to the downtown Postal Service office Tuesday morning was robbed at gunpoint, according to a Goldsboro police report.
The incident took place in the 300 block of East Walnut Street at 9:20 a.m.
According to the report, David Reese, 57, of Hugh Street, was walking to the post office to get a money order to pay his rent when a "brownish-gold" Honda approached him.
Reese told investigators that a black man wearing a ski mask and wielding a black handgun jumped out of the car and said, "Give it up."
Reese put his hands in the air and told the assailant he could "have it all" and begged for his life, the report said.
He handed the thief $650.
The suspect then pushed Reese to the ground and took off. Reese went immediately to the police department to report the crime.
