A Wayne County father and son face charges for stealing and selling materials from a metal communications tower, according to a Wayne County Sheriff's Office.
Kenneth Thomas Fulmer, 54, 180 N. Dunn St., and Justin Steele Fulmer, 25, of Dudley, are both charged with larceny and possession of stolen goods. The theft, reported Dec. 10 by Thomas Dail of Seven Springs, resulted in an investigation that led detectives to a local salvage company.
"It was a CB radio tower. The guy (Dail) had taken it down to do some repairs on it," Capt. Richard Lewis said. The Fulmers allegedly stole the components and attempted to sell them at the salvage yard.
"Anything that is metal is a hot item now," Lewis said. Salvage yards are only obligated to report suspicious materials that are generally restricted from being brought in by private citizens.
Both Fulmers were placed in the Wayne County Jail under $7,500 secured bonds.
