Fremont STEP meeting held Tuesday

FREMONT -- Fremont's Small Town Economic Prosperity committee met Tuesday night to discuss what Fremont has to offer for retirees.
There is more than meets the eye in Fremont, Mayor Darron Flowers said, who compiled the list of Fremont's offerings and presented the list to the committee.
Fremont offers everything from strong town services, a continually falling crime rate and a close proximity to medical services, to an easily walkable community, many churches and various opportunities for entertainment.
What is not readily available in the town is easily accessible, Flowers said, as Fremont is located just off of I-795 and allows rapid travel to larger communities, such as Goldsboro, Wilson and Raleigh. For retirees that enjoy golf, the mayor said there are six golf courses within 30 minutes of Fremont.
