The Goldsboro/Wayne county Interagency Drug Task force seized 114 grams of marijuana and two firearms during a search of a residence Sept. 30, resulting in two men being charged.
The investigation began on Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, according to a press release.
The U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigations assisted with the investigation.
"A lot of times it means there was some military (personnel) involved," said Maj. Tom Effler of the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.
Devaul Tremaine Britt, 31, of 728 Isler St., is charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $3,000 secured bond.
Justin Earl Carr, 31, also of 728 Isler St., is charged with maintaining a dwelling for the purposes of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was given an unsecured bond of $1,500.
Neither man was charged with weapons possession. The guns were seized as "tools of the trade," Effler said.
