Tune in to FOX TV on Monday night for local car salesman Shell Davis' debut on "Sleepy Hollow."
The 9 p.m. airing kicks off the second season premiere of the show, based on the popular Washington Irving story.
Ichabod Crane, the Colonial soldier, as well as the Headless Horseman, are joined by a modern-day female detective and an array of mythical and historical figures like Ben Franklin.
Davis, who grew up in Mount Olive, was plucked from obscurity when a representative from the show saw him on the Frema Motors lot last spring.
Without even an audition, the 4 foot 6 inch sales manager was chosen to portray a character named "Specialty Soul." His segment was filmed in Leland, near Wilmington.
The show returns to TV eight months after the first season finale.
Davis' role was a non-speaking one but between his make-up and prosthetics promise to entertain his hometown fans and may lead to other appearances on the show and elsewhere.
