Six Norwayne Middle School students placed in the top 10 in the national Technology Student Association, or TSA, event held in Washington, D.C.

Lauren Cline, Alyssa Martens, Hallie Rouse, Ciara Sykes, Emily Thorne and Marinique Ward were in the top 10 in the "Chapter Team Parliamentary Procedures" event. Miss Cline, Miss Rouse and Miss Thorne also placed in the top 10 and took fourth place in the "Inventions and Innovations" category.

The TSA is a national student organization for middle and high school technology education. Paul Casey, STEM teacher and TSA adviser, credited former educator John Vause with building a nationally competitive program at the school. Vause, who retired from the district in 208, continues to donate his time to the program, assisting the team in its regional, state and national efforts.
