The investigation into the shooting of an 18-year-old man at the Walmart on U.S. 70 West on Saturday evening is ongoing, the Goldsboro Police Department said today.
Jordan Blake Lynn of Perkins Mill Road is recovering from stab wounds and a gunshot wound he received during the assault. He was treated and released from Wayne Memorial Hospital the same night the incident took place.
Maj. Al King said Lynn's address, originally released by police as a Becton Circle residence, is an old one.
"He lived there with his family more than a year ago, and they have since moved," King said.
King said interviews with at least five potential witnesses are still being conducted.
"It is overly apparent he knew the person who shot him and had arranged to meet him there," King said.
Due to the investigation being in its early stages, King declined to go into specifics about the motive for the shooting and stabbing, but evidence collected at the scene did include marijuana scattered about the area.
"As far as other evidence, it is hard to say. Once police started showing up, people all over there started throwing things out," King said.
