University of Mount Olive concerts scheduled

MOUNT OLIVE -- The University of Mount Olive has announced its fall Concert Series events made possible in part by the Fine Arts Circle.
The first of the two Concert Series events is scheduled for Sept. 27, and will feature Tami Tango Trio. The 7:30 p.m. event will be held at the Assembly Hall, 207 Wooten St.
Tami Tango Trio is an internationally acclaimed Argentine music and dance ensemble. Eduardo Tami, the group's founder, is one of Latin America's most renowned flutists.
With a combination of tangos, milongas, valses, and candombes, the performance is sure to deliver a vibrant and enjoyable experience.
The ensemble spotlights the trio of flute, guitar, and piano, accompanied by a talented dance duo.
Ascendo3 will be the second featured fall Concert Series event. The group will perform Oct. 23 at 7:30 p.m. in Assembly Hall.
Ascendo3 provides a unique musical experience that delivers an international collaboration with contemporary composers. The music embodies programming of new acoustic and electroacoustic works.
The presentation includes fresh, bold productions of works by J. S. Bach, Vivaldi, Beethoven, Poulenc, Rachmaninoff, Gershwin, Piazzolla, Bernstein, Lennon-McCartney and others.
