Lucky 888 Sweepstakes on North Spence Avenue
Goldsboro police are investigating an armed robbery and kidnapping at the Lucky 888 Internet sweepstakes parlor located at 906 A. North Spence Ave.
The robbery took place Sunday at 11:18 p.m., according to a police report.
The report said a black male approached the business door and rang the bell.
Lori Tripp, 34, a Lucky 888 employee, buzzed the man in.
Once inside, however, the man produced a pistol and told Ms. Tripp to go to the rear of the store. He forced her into a back room and told her to open the safe.
The man then restrained Ms. Tripp and another employee in the back room, the report said.
The suspect fled the area in an unknown direction in an unidentified vehicle with an undisclosed amount of money.
No description of the suspect was listed on the report.
