To provide a unique shopping experience and to help the needy of Wayne County, the Salvation Army of Wayne County is holding its third annual fall bazaar fundraiser.

It will be held Sept. 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church.

The Salvation Army is taking vendor applications through Sept. 15. An 8-foot table is $30. Vendors keep 100 percent of their profits.

To reserve your table, call the Salvation Army at 919-735-4811 or send an email to julie_igleheart@uss.salvationarmy.org.

"We're trying to get people just starting out in their business like Mary Kay or 31, and anyone who makes crafts," said Capt. Julie Igleheart of the Salvation Army.

Visitors will find such things as crocheted coasters, garbage bag holders to hang on a refrigerator, coasters made out of tile that are decoupaged, crocheted scarves, homemade laundry detergent, jewelry, homemade lotions, homemade soaps and a lot more.

"We had a lady who did it a couple of years ago who had just closed down her store and had all kinds of brand new socks and T-shirts and sold them at the fall bazaar," Mrs. Igleheart said.

And if you get hungry, the Salvation Army's Ladies Auxiliary will be selling lunch for $4, which includes a hot dog, chips and a drink.

Proceeds from the hot dog lunch and table registration will go to help the needy of Wayne County.
