Deadline for Arts Council of Wayne grant submission is Sept. 12

The Arts Council of Wayne County is taking applications for the 2014-15 Regional Artist Project Grants.

The program is managed through a partnership with the North Carolina Arts Council and 29 local arts councils throughout eastern North Carolina, including Wayne, Beaufort, Bertie, Camden, Carteret, Chowan, Craven, Currituck, Dare, Duplin, Edgecombe, Gates, Greene, Halifax, Hertford, Hyde, Jones, Lenoir, Martin, Nash, Northampton, Onslow, Pamlico, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Pitt, Tyrrell, Washington and Wilson.

The grants, which range from $500 to $1,000, provide financial support to artists in all disciplines, such as visual art/crafts, music composition, film/video, literature/playwriting and choreography/dance and at any stage of their career. The grant money can be used for things such as creating new work, buying equipment and materials and professional development workshops.

The deadline for applying for a grant is Sept. 12.
