Police probe two shootings

Officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to two separate shooting incidents on Friday.

Both cases are under investigation.

The first shooting took place in the Westhaven housing community at about 7:20 p.m.

Carlton Jackson III, 24, of Olivia Lane, told police he was walking in the parking lot of the Westhaven Community Center when he was shot once in the right leg by an unknown suspect.

Jackson was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital for treatment.

No suspects were listed.

The second shooting occurred in an open field area at 405 Denmark St..

After being shot, Donyeah Tariq Wiggins, 22, of Herman Street, managed to walk to his sister's home at West Oak Street. He also was taken to the hospital, where he was treated.
