An apparent drive-by shooter missed his mark Tuesday evening, but caused damage to the brick and light fixtures of a city storefront, according to a Goldsboro police report.
The shooting took place at Adams Convenience Store, 601 W. Ash St., at 10:40 p.m.
According to the report, a black man entered the store moments before the shooting.
Store owner Musaed Saleh, 44, said he heard several shots fired.
Goldsboro police responded and reviewed the store's security camera footage. The video shows a passing Chrysler 300 four-door.
The alleged intended victim, the man who had entered the store before the shooting, is also seen on the video outside the store.
When the shooting stopped, he ran out of view and left in an unknown vehicle heading in an unknown direction, the report said.
Maj. Al King, head of investigations for the Goldsboro Police Department, said the report was taken as a damage to property report because there was no way to verify when the light fixtures and brick were damaged and the surveillance video was of poor quality.
"We will have a better idea once we get a hold of the footage and get to look at it some more," King said.
