Free block party this Saturday

New Spirit Church Ministries will sponsor a free block party this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the church, 1501 M William St.
Also participating will be the Goldsboro Police Department, Wayne County Sheriff's Office, Young Mom's Connect, Wayne Pregnancy Care Center and the Goldsboro Family YMCA.
Church officials said the idea behind the event is to provide a family-oriented environment to strengthen families, bring more visibility to resources available to the community and to build a better relationship between community organizations and the people they serve.
Donations are being sought to help make the event a success, church officials said.
Items needed include hamburger patties and buns, hot dogs and buns, chips, bottled water, soft drinks, ice creams, flavored ice and door prizes.
Also, space is still available for organizations that would like to set up informational booths.
