A Turkey man has been arrested for his alleged role in a Mount Olive theft that left one dog dead and another seriously injured.

The Wayne County Sheriff's Office charged Adam Wayne Outlaw, 28, of 5508 Dave Bright Road in Turkey, with larceny, possession of stolen goods and cruelty to animals.

Outlaw is currently being held in the Wayne County Jail under a $163,000 secured bond.

According to the press release issued today, a Mount Olive resident reported two four-wheelers stolen from the property May 21.

During the theft of the two motor vehicles, a neighbor's two small pugs began barking.

Outlaw allegedly went into the neighbor's yard, killed one of the dogs and severely injured the other, the press release said.

The fate of the injured pug was not known, according to the report.

At least one of the four-wheelers has been recovered.

It was located in Greene County.
