A Dudley man shot in the abdomen at a party Sunday is recovering at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, according to a Wayne County sheriff's report.
Dylan Daughtry Jacobs, 21, 222 Gable Drive, told investigators he was involved in an altercation with five men at a large house party at 1004 Sleepy Creek Road.
One of the men allegedly pulled a gun and shot Jacobs in the stomach, according to the report.

Once the officers secured the scene, Jacobs was transported by EMS to Wayne Memorial Hospital and then on to Vidant Medical Center.
Several witnesses said they heard the gunshot but did not see the altercation, the report said.
The only description given on the report is of a black man, 6 feet 3 inches tall with dreadlocks and a stocky frame of about 220 pounds.
The investigation is ongoing.
