Wayne Community College, where "American Idol" contestant Majesty Rose was a student after graduating from Eastern Wayne High School in 2010, will hold its first viewing party for the public to watch the show collectively this week.
"American Idol Majesty Mania" will be held on Wednesday evening, when the Top 12 contestants sing next.
Prior to the show's start at 8 p.m., there will be a pep rally in the Wayne Learning Center Atrium at 7:30, with the crowd moving into Moffatt Auditorium to watch the performance on TV.
Participants are encouraged to bring posters and wear big flowers, especially flowers, in honor of the hometown favorite. Officials said the plan is to provide live streaming video of the pep rally and interviews with audience members on the college website, www.waynecc.edu..
The public is invited to join in the fun and cheer on the Goldsboro representative.
The city of Goldsboro is also hosting weekly viewing parties at the Goldsboro Family YMCA on Thursday, coinciding with the results show of "American Idol."
The event takes place from 7:30-9 p.m. in the second floor multi-purpose room and the public is invited.
