Greenfield to perform sheriff's duties, for now

Wayne County Sheriff's Office officials have released the following statement:
"North Carolina General Statue requires that Maj. Fane Greeenfield be the person for Wayne County and the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, to perform the duties of the Sheriff until a Sheriff has been appointed by the County Commissioners to fulfill the term of the late Sheriff Carey Winders."
