Suspect sought in bank robbery

Police are looking for the suspect pictured here in connection with the Farmville robbery.

FARMVILLE -- Farmville police are searching for a man they say walked into the Southern Bank at 4217 E. Church St. in Farmville Thursday, and robbed the bank by handing the teller a note demanding money.

The robbery took place at 10:45 a.m., according to a Farmville Police Department press release.

The suspect is described as a black man, 6 feet, 3 inches tall wearing gray sweatpants with cargo pockets and a tan hat. He also had on a black jacket with white and red on the front and a red stripe down the sleeves, as well as black and white gloves.

The press release did not disclose how much money was taken, or if a weapon was used during the robbery.

Anyone with information regarding the robbery is asked to contact the Farmville police at 1-252-753-4111, or the Federal Bureau of Investigation at 1-800-209-2293. Information leading to an arrest is eligible for a reward through the North Carolina Bankers Association Robbery Reward Program.
