Local NAACP to hold its Jubilee Day celebration

The Goldsboro-Wayne Branch NAACP will celebrate its 23rd annual Jubilee Day at 4 p.m. Sunday at Hooks Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 290 Hooks Grove Church Road, Pikeville.
The guest speaker will be Dr. Reginald Watson, associate professor of English at East Carolina University. Music will be by the Bear Creek Young Adult Mass Choir.
The service will include teaching on the historical meaning of Jubilee Day. Pastors, ministers, and members of Masonic orders, fraternities or sororities are asked to wear their robes or particular colors.
