The Goldsboro Wayne County Interagnecy Drug Task Force, responding to citizen concerns, located a meth lab operating in Pikeville Wednesday, resulting in an arrest.

Additional arrests and more drug-related charges are pending, according to a Wayne County Sheriff's Office press release.

William Dortch Stith, 43, is charged with manufacturing methamphetamines and second-level trafficking in meth following his arrest at his home at 400 Ivey Lane in Pikeville.

Stith's residence was the location targeted by the investigation, where drug squad officers located an anhydrous ammonia meth lab.

Investigators seized what the press release calls a "large amount of methamphetamines."

"Anhydrous is a meth-od of manufacturing meth," Detective Charles Shaeffer said.

"There is the anhydrous and red phosphorous methods and this one happened to be anhydrous. We did seize some anhydrous ammonia, but 'anhydrous' also refers to the method," he said.

Stith is currently being held in the Wayne County Jail under a $75,000 secured bond.

He is scheduled to appear in Wayne County District Court Dec. 18.
