Three arrested in liquor house raid

A suspect is handcuffed and searched after Wayne County Sheriff's Office deputies and North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement agents raided a liquor house Sunday morning in southern Wayne County.
Local and state law enforcement authorities raided a "liquor house" off Durham Lake Road early Sunday, arresting three people for illegal liquor sales and possession of marijuana.
Members of the Wayne County Sheriff's Department SWAT Team, along with agents of the state Alcohol Law Enforcement Agency, seized alcohol, drugs and firearms during a raid of the "Boom Boom Room," Sheriff Carey Winders said.
Three people were charged and a fourth person faces pending charges, ALE Special Agent Kelton Brown said.
Travis Petterson, 31, of 105 Timber Hollow Drive, Dudley, was charged with unauthorized possession of spiritous liquor. Daneen Outlaw, 49, of 767 Durham Lake Road was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell and deliver and possession and sale of alcohol without proper permits. Joshua Outlaw, 23, of the same address, was charged with possession of marijuana.
Charges of possession of alcohol for sale without approved permits are expected to be filed against Louis Stokes, 52, of 767 Durham Lake Road, Brown said.
Two handguns were seized during the raid, Brown said. One was dropped by a fleeing suspect, he said.
The location was a shed-type building with a pool table, stereo and full bar, Brown said. State agents were responding to a request by Winders for help in shutting down the illegal establishment, he noted.
Brown said there were about a dozen patrons in the room when SWAT team members entered, followed by the deputies.
"One of our main goals is to be responsible to local law enforcement agencies," he said Sunday. "We try to help support their efforts to keep these types of establishments under control."
The location had been the scene of multiple shootings, stabbings, drug sales, illegal liquor sales and an alleged sexual assault, Winders said.
A search warrant was obtained after undercover agents made purchases of illegal alcohol and other substances.
More than a dozen deputies and seven ALE agents were involved in the raid, Brown said.
