Mayor's Committee for Persons with Disabilities sets awards luncheon for Oct. 17

The Mayor's Committee for Persons with Disabilities will hold its annual Awards Luncheon on Thursday, Oct. 17 at noon at Herman Park Center.
The organization will present five awards: Employee of the Year, Employer of the Year, Committee Member of the Year, Most Accessible for Business of the Year and the Mayor's Trophy.
Nomination forms and tickets, which cost $12, can be obtained at the City Comunnity Affairs at City Hall at 204 Center St. or by calling Sue Chance at 919-580-4380 or e-mailing her at schance@ci.goldsboro.nc.us.com.
The Rev. Scott Broadway from the First Free Will Baptist Church of Kinston will be the guest speaker. He has cerebral palsy and he is the Coordinator of Wheels on Fire for Christ.
Wilbur's Barbecue will be catering the luncheon.
