Wayne County commissioners will meet Thursday with the Seven Springs Town Board at 6 p.m. at the Seven Springs Restaurant. The session is the latest in a series of meetings with the county's seven municipalities.
The meetings are open to the public.
Meetings already have been held with the Fremont and Mount Olive town boards. Commissioners were to have met with the Eureka Town Board today at 11:30 a.m. at Lane Tree Golf Club.
The final three meetings are:
* Pikeville, Wednesday, Sept. 18, at noon at the Lane Tree Golf Club
* Walnut Creek, Thursday, Sept. 19, at noon at the Walnut Creek Country Club
* Goldsboro, Monday, Sept. 30, at 8 a.m. in the Goldsboro City Hall conference room.
County Manager Lee Smith has said the meetings offer the town boards and commissioners an opportunity to discuss topics of interest and to discover areas "where we can strengthen our partnerships."
The meetings also are being viewed as a forerunner to the update for the county's land use plan, which was first adopted in March 2008, and was that last updated in August 2009.
