Pennies from Angels raises more than $5K at 12th annual banquet

Pennies from Angels held its 12th annual banquet July 27 at Farmington Heights in Wilson. There were 230 people present for the event.
Blended Hands of Pikeville shared their talents with all those that were there with their sign language to music.
Jamie Howell started the evening by singing "Angels Among Us," and Vickie Robbins told of her family's struggles while going through treatments and how the organization had helped them.
Pennies from Angels doubled the amount of money it normally raises at the event with donations totaling $5,768, with more still coming in.
Pennies from Angels helps cancer patients in the local area with food, utilities, gas, medications, medical equipment or other necessities.
