To increase convenience and access to postal services, a new contract post office, offering almost all regular postal services, is now open in Goldsboro.
Carlie C's IGA contract postal unit, located in the store at 1805 Wayne Memorial Drive, will be open Monday through Sunday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
"This office will help to increase convenience and access to postal services for customers unable to travel to the main post office," said acting Postmaster Alisa Bassa, who will oversee the operation, in a news release.
"A full line of postal products and services are available at the new CPU including postage stamps, Priority Mail Express service, Priority Mail service, special services, packaging products, and much more. We are very excited for the residents of Goldsboro and the community at large."
The Postal Service has re-engineered the entire contract unit postal program to better answer the needs of postal customers nationwide.
"The Postal Service is continuously tasked with finding smarter and more efficient ways to reach our customers," Bassa said. "Our automated postal centers, CPUs, online services ... and our face value stamps ... are allowing us to change the way we do business, to make us available to more people 24 hours a day."
