Scheduled to perform are Carolina Grass, pictured, and Samantha Casey and the Bluegrass Jam, with a special appearance by Jimmy Aycock.
A benefit concert to raise money to restore the Goldsboro Meeting House at 111 W. Ash St. will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at the meeting house.
The show will feature the Samantha Casey Trio and the Carolina Grass band, both of which perform bluegrass music. Also performing will be Wayne County's piano man, Jimmy Aycock.
The evening's entertainment will be emceed by Annette Grady, host of the popular bluegrass radio show "The Annette Grady Jamboree."
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the Prudential The McMillen Real Estate Group at 104 N. Berkeley Blvd., or at the door.
The Meeting House served for nearly a century as Goldsboro's First Presbyterian Church. It was eventually given to the Wayne County Historical Association, along with a small endowment to help keep up the landmark building.
But the endowment has not proven to be enough to keep the building in good shape, said Emily Weil of the Historical Association.
Association supporters hope to raise enough money to perform renovations on the building.
"We're trying to find a more community-friendly way to use the building," Mrs. Weil said.
She said the decision to hold the concert in the old building was based on the hope that if attendees can see the actual building, they might be more inclined to help support the restoration.
"We'd like to make it more available to the community," she said.
