Stovall places top 10 in Miss N.C.

Miss Johnston County, Johna Edmonds, was crowned Miss North Carolina on Saturday night.
Miss Goldsboro Beth Stovall placed in the top 10 finalists.
Miss Edmonds won the Lifestyle and Fitness Award on Wednesday night. She is a master of accounting student at North Carolina State University.
First runner-up was Jessie Smith, Miss Capital City. Second runner-up was Mya Kayler, Miss Mount Holly. Third runner-up was Tynia Brandon, Miss Queen City. Fourth runner-up was Brieanna Hester, Miss Greater Carolina.
Miss Stovall is a 2011 graduate of Rosewood High School. The 19-year-old is a vocal performance major at UNC-Wilmington. She won the preliminary event in talent on Wednesday night. Her talent was operatic voice. She performed her operatic vocal of "Quando M'en Vo" from "La Boheme." Her platform was "Inspiration: Art," to keep music and arts programs as a vital part of public school education.
Blair Mozingo, the current Miss Tarheel, was the 2012 Miss Goldsboro. She is from Duplin County and won the preliminary round in talent Tuesday night but did not finish in the top ten.
Also, Emma Carter, Goldsboro Outstanding Teen, won the talent award during a preliminary competition and was named 4th runner-up in the Miss North Carolina Outstanding Teen competition on Friday night.
The Miss North Carolina Pageant is an official state preliminary associated with the Miss America Organization.
