Dillard/Goldsboro expecting thousands for reunion

The Dillard/Goldsboro Alumni & Friends Inc. annual reunion celebration will take place next weekend, with an anticipated $72,000 in scholarships to be presented to area high school students.
This is the 59th year for the gathering of the national high school alumni organization. They historically meet Memorial Day weekend, with graduates from Goldsboro High School and the former Dillard High School attending an array of events.
This year, high school classes ending in 3s and 8s will celebrate their respective milestones.
In addition to reunions, there will also be a parade, a golf tournament, health and wellness fair, crowning of the Alumni Queen and presentation of student scholarships.
Dillard/Goldsboro Alumni & Friends Inc. has six chapters on the East coast -- Goldsboro, Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, New Jersey and New York.

7 p.m. -- Scholarship and awards program, Goldsboro High School; announcement of Alumni Queen

8 a.m. -- Golf tournament, Goldsboro Country Club
