The Goldsboro City Council will meet to continue discussion Monday on the proposed budget for the 2013-14 fiscal year before the regularly scheduled City Council meeting.

The City Council will meet in room 206 of the City Hall addition 30 minutes earlier than usual at 4:30 p.m. to allow Finance Director Kaye Scott to finish her presentation on the proposed 2013-2014 budget.

At the meeting, the City Council is scheduled to vote to approve a consent agenda item appropriating $20,139 to cover the costs of undoing work already done to the bathroom and picnic shelter on Stoney Creek Park and moving the structures to a new location after Randolph Street residents complained about the location.

The money to undo work that had already been done on the project was not covered by the granting agency, which is providing half of the funds for the project.

During the work session, the City Council also will discuss the possible expansion of Elmwood Cemetery and street resurfacing, both projects brought up during 2013-14 budget discussions on May 13.

A public hearing also will be held on the proposed 2013-14 budget at the meeting.

There then will be three more public hearings on zoning allowances for two mobile homes and one office-residence building also.

Other consent agenda items up for the City Council's approval include setting two more public hearings on zoning issues within the city, as well as the annexation of one of the properties up for a public hearing, J&J Farming Enterprises, LLC.

The plat of land up for annexation is located on the south side of Ditchbank Road between NC 111 South and Woodpeck Road. It is a 24.7 acre plat of land.

The City Council will also vote on the acquisition of right-of-way for a section of land owned by North Berkeley Development Associates, LLC for the Berkeley Boulevard Widening Project. The offer on the parcel of land is $25,000.

And finally the Council is expected to approve closing several sections of downtown city streets for the Dillard/Goldsboro Alumni Parade from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
