Optimist Club collecting used computers for kids

The Goldsboro Optimist Club will collect used computers from the public on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. for its Computers4Kids program.
It will be held at the Sam's Club parking lot.
The following items are needed: laptop, desktop, and tower computers with Windows XP or later operating system, LCD monitors, keyboards, mice and speakers.
The Goldsboro Optimist Club is a Microsoft Registered Refurbisher and provides affordable, refurbished computers to low-income families with children in Wayne County Public Schools middle and high schools. To date, 41 families with 101 children have benefited from this program.
A small fee is charged for the computers.
The refurbishing process includes the destruction and removal of all personal data from the hard disk drive(s).
Used computers and equipment can also be dropped off at the following locations during regular business days:
* Prudential The McMillen Real Estate Group, 1004 N. Berkeley Blvd., Goldsboro
* Goldsboro Builders Supply, 701 Patetown Road, Goldsboro
* Mount Olive Builders Supply, 343 West N.C. 55, Mount Olive
Additionally, computers and equipment can be scheduled for drop-off at the Goldsboro Optimist Club, 205 E. Walnut St.
