New doctor starts at Wayne Memorial Hospital

Dr. Robert Albrecht, a specialist in vascular surgery, is the newest member of Wayne Memorial Hospital's medical staff.
The physician is board certified in general and vascular surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. His specialty area is in the treatment of arterial thrombosis, peripheral artery disease and varicose veins.
A native of New Orleans, he earned his medical degree at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in 1996 and also did his internship there. He completed his general surgery residency at East Carolina University and his fellowship in vascular surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.
He previously worked at First Health Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. He was also on the medical staff of Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg and Sandhills Regional Hospital in Hamlet.
He has also been a university instructor and his work has been published in a variety of medical journals.
