The American Cancer Society is looking for volunteers to participate in a Cancer Prevention Study 3.

The purpose of the study is to try and find links between cancer and lifestyle and environment.

Volunteers between the ages of 30 and 65 are needed to take part in the study.

"We're looking for 250 volunteers to make a 20- to 30-year commitment," said Brenda Robinson with the Wayne County Chapter of the American Cancer Society.

Blood will be drawn and measurements will be taken the first day of the study, then follow the volunteers over the course of the study. Volunteers will become a bar code in the system and will receive a survey in the mail every four or five years. There is no expense to the volunteer.

Enrollment will be held May 17 from 2 to 6:30 p.m. at First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Goldsboro.

For more information about the study, call the Cancer Society at 888-604-5888.
