Goldsboro to offer residents 'free pickup'

During April, Goldsboro will waive charges for the collection of discarded furniture, large and small appliances, hot water heaters, mattresses, box springs and other bulky items.
Scheduled pickup days will be every Wednesday in the month -- April 3, 10, 17 and 24.
Goldsboro residents may schedule a free pick up by contacting the Sanitation Division at 919-734-8674. The appointment should be scheduled before items are placed on the curb for pickup.
The following items are prohibited and will not be picked up: dirt, turf, rocks, building materials, carpeting, wet paint, metal posts, gasoline/kerosene cans, lumber, brick, concrete, shingles, logs, tree stumps, automobile parts, animal waste and hazardous waste.
The free collection service is for Goldsboro residential customers only and does not apply to any commercial properties.
