The public is invited to "visit the world in a day" on March 15, as Wayne Community College hosts is second annual International Day on campus from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

The college's Cultural Diversity/Global Education Task Force is coordinating the free event in Moffatt Auditorium and the Atrium of the Wayne Learning Center.

Visitors can wander among displays about more than 20 countries and regions, participate in geography quizzes in two formats -- face-to-face and via phones -- and win gift certificates to local restaurants, and enjoy a parade of countries and performances of music, dance, and martial arts. Italian, Mexican, and Japanese food will be on the menu in the college's cafeteria.

Opening ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Performances at 11:10 will include bagpipes (Scotland), Flamenco (Spain), Kathak (India), and La Cumbia (Columbia). At 12:10 p.m. the lineup will be bagpipes, Flamenco, Matri (India), La Cumbia, and Budo (Japan).
