The Wayne Business and Industry Center will offer a series of programs in recognition of Women's History Month.

"We wanted to do something in honor of Women's History Month that would bring attention to the roles women can and do play in business ownership," said Renita D. Allen Dawson, director of the Small Business Center of the WBIC. "This series of seminars will allow women to become educated about entrepreneurship challenges facing women, network with other women in business, and form strong business partnerships."

Co-sponsored by the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce, all sessions will be held in Room 101 of the Walnut Building.

"We recognize and honor all Wayne County businesswomen, in particular those in leadership roles and those who aspire to ascend to one," said Dr. Ed Wilson, interim president of the chamber. "The Chamber brings together more than 530 local businesses representing over 31,000 employees -- male and female -- for the purpose of networking, professional development and community betterment."

The four sessions planned include:

*"Resources Available To Start or Expand Your Business," presented by a representative of the U.S. Small Business Administration, on March 5, 5:30-7:30 p.m.

*"Credit 101: Are You Bankable?" provided by the U.S. Small Business Administration, will be on March 6. A light breakfast will be served at 8 a.m., with the program scheduled from 9-11 a.m.

*A "Success Panel" will be held March 12, 6-7 p.m. An opportunity to network will be held 5:15-6 p.m.

*"How Women Can Work Together More Effectively" by Emily Ballance, March 19, 6-9 p.m.
