Wayne Memorial Hospital is hosting a free LiveWell women's event next week catered to the busy woman.

"Cirque du Mom" will take place on Thursday in the hospital cafeteria from 6 to 8 p.m.

A lineup of stress-reducing seminars is planned for the evening, said Georgia Dees, director of public relations at the hospital. An array of local health experts and representatives from related service fields will also be on hand, she added.

Scheduled events include:

At 6:15 p.m.:

*Dining Room 1 -- "You're Never Too Old," featuring Eryn McAuliffe, director of Wayne County Services on Aging. Learn about educational classes, exercise programs and recreational activities and outings at the new Peggy M. Seegars Senior Center.

*Dining Room 3 -- "Learning on the Go," with Sherry Granberry, early childhood instructor at Wayne Community College, on discovering ways to turn your children's everyday activities into engaging learning experiences.

At 6:45 p.m.:

* Dining Room 1 -- "Caring for Dad," with Robert Fuller Jr., Goldsboro attorney, discussing what you need to know to help care for an aging parent, financially, legally and otherwise.

* Dining Room 3 -- "Organize Your Life," with Holly Harper, a new mom who manages two businesses from home. She will talk about how she uses three calendars, six e-mail accounts and a suite of apps to keep her life organized and teach you how to be smarter than your smart phone -- from shopping to travel to real estate to breastfeeding to photography to social networking, there's an app for that.

At 7:15 p.m.:

* Dining Room 1 -- "With a Little Love," learn how to help a loved one living with Alzheimer's and where to find resources for them and yourself as a caregiver. Led by Anne Paugh, coordinator of the Alzheimer's Daytime Support Group.

* Dining Room 3 -- "What is Hospice?" Robin King-Thiele, DO, hospice physician for 3HC, will speak about hospice care, who it can benefit and how to discuss this sensitive subject and ask the right questions to find the answers you need.

Throughout the evening, there will also be a number of other activities going on simultaneously, including representatives from Partnership for Children's Young Moms Connect and Safe Kids programs, 4-H activities to get kids off their iPads and more active, relaxation techniques from the Family Y, samples of healthy snacks and beverages, a mini massage from Robin Warren, licensed massage and bodyworks therapist with Moore Medical Massage.

Information on other subjects will also be available, including child immunization schedules, advance directives, powers of attorney, and health care powers of attorney and living wills.

Several area experts will also be on hand to speak with attendees individually -- Dr. Mark LaFave on prostate health (for the men in your life); Dr. Junius Rose on mental health, depression and where to find help; Dr. Stewart Futch on colonoscopy; Dr. Benjamin Eskra on cosmetic services; and information on allergies from Eastern ENT Sinus and Allergy Center.

Mrs. Dees said there will also be chances to win prizes, including spa gift certificates for a massage, facial and other services.

Advance registration is preferred. Please email registration@waynehealth.org or call 919-731-6299 and leave your name, address and phone number. Calls will be returned if requested.
