If you missed out on pre-ordering your Girl Scout cookies this year -- and most people did with only one week of pre-sales -- don't worry, Scouts will be out from today through March 10 at various locations across Wayne County.
With 30 troops in Wayne County, Girl Scout officials are hoping to make a large contribution to the $261,068 goal this year for the 41 counties in the N.C. Coastal Pines region.
There are eight flavors this year: Caramel Delites, Lemonades, Peanut Butter Patties, Peanut Butter Sandwiches, Thin Mints, Thanks-A-Lots, Short Breads and the new Mango Cremes.
On diet but still want to help? The Girl Scouts also are collecting for Operation Cookie Drop, which helps the Scouts send cookies overseas to military bases for their personnel to enjoy.
Some of the locations where Wayne County Girl Scouts will be selling this year are area Food Lions, Wilber's, Sam's Club, area Walmarts, Lowes, O'Reilly Auto Parts and Pet Supply Plus.
