Man, 18, charged with sex offenses

MOUNT OLIVE -- An 18-year-old Mount Olive man is being held in the Wayne County Jail under a $1 million bond after being charged by Mount Olive police with sexual offenses with a child under the age of 13.
Tyiwan Marquis Johnson of 105 McDonald Drive faces six felony counts of first degree sex offense with a child and three felony counts of indecent liberties with a child.
Police Chief Brian Rhodes commended the work of Sgt. John Duncan, the lead investigator on the case.
Duncan works in the patrol division and assisted the investigations division in responding to the complaint and helping apprehend the offender in a timely fashion.
