Offices to close for Christmas

Banks, the Post Office and federal offices will be closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day, while state offices will be closed Dec. 24, 25, 26 and Jan. 1.
Local municipal and Wayne County offices will observe several different holiday schedules.
Wayne County offices and the courthouse will be closed Dec. 24, 25, 26, 28 and Jan. 1 for the Christmas and New Year's Day holidays. The courthouse and administrative county offices will be open on Thursday, Dec. 27, and Monday, Dec. 31. This includes the county manager's office, finance, tax office and the register of deeds.
The county's solid waste/landfill and convenience sites will be closed Dec. 23, 24, 25, 30 and Jan. 1. They also be closed as usual Jan. 2.
The landfill and convenience sites will be open Dec. 26, 27, 28, 29 and 31.
The Health Department and Social Services will be closed the entire week of Christmas, but will be open on Dec. 31 and closed on Jan. 1
Services on Aging will closed Dec. 24, 25, 26 and Jan. 1. It will be open Dec. 27, 28, 29 and 31.
All branches of the Wayne County Public Library will be closed Dec. 24, 25, 26.
The last classes for Wayne County Public Schools was Friday and the schools will be closed through Jan. 1.
The city of Goldsboro will observe the Christmas holiday Dec. 24, 25 and 26. There are no schedule changes for sanitation services for Monday, Dec. 24.
All sanitation services for Tuesday, Dec. 25, will be serviced on Wednesday, Dec. 26.
Goldsboro will observe New Year's on Tuesday, Jan. 1. All sanitation services for that day will be serviced on Wednesday, Jan. 2.
Mount Olive town offices will be closed Dec. 24, 25, 26, and Jan. 1. The recyclables center on Talton Avenue will be closed as well.
Trash pickup will be moved back one day, with Thursday's pickup on Friday and Friday's on Saturday during Christmas week and the following week.
People with a water or sewer emergency should call 919-658-9517 and leave a message. The on-call person will return the call.
Town offices in Eureka will close at 10 a.m. on Dec. 24 and 31 and will be closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Trash will be picked up Wednesday, Dec. 26 and Wednesday, Jan. 2.
Pikeville town offices will be closed Dec. 24, 25 and Jan. 1. There will be no change in garbage pickup.
In Fremont, town offices will be closed Dec. 24, 25, 26 and Jan. 1. Garbage will be picked up Dec. 27. There will be no yard waste pickup that week. The Dec. 31 pickup will be done as scheduled and yard trash will be collected on Jan. 2 and 4.
Walnut Creek village offices will be closed Dec. 24, 25 and Jan. 1. Trash will be picked up on Dec. 24 and 31 instead of on its usual Tuesday schedule. Recyclables will be picked up on Thursdays as usual.
Seven Springs Town Hall, which normally is open only on Mondays and Wednesdays, will be closed all week.
Wooten Garbage Service will be closed Christmas Day. Monday's service be run on Wednesday, Tuesday's on Thursday, Wednesday's on Friday and Thursday's on Saturday.
