The Goldsboro Police Department got help Monday from the State Bureau of Investigation and the federal Drug Enforcement Agency in capturing a local man wanted for attempted first-degree murder.
Lemel Shamont Jones, 24, is accused of shooting 33-year-old Demetrice Joel Holloman several times Nov. 19 in front of a home at 1737 E. Holly St.
Holloman was airlifted to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville due to the severity of his wounds. He has since been released.
Jones was taken into custody without incident Monday at 604 Wayne Avenue and was taken to the Wayne County Jail, according to a Goldsboro police press release.
He was placed under a $500,000 secured bond, with a $2,000 secured bond attached due to an outstanding warrant for driving while his license was revoked.
Jones was scheduled to have a first appearance in court today.
