Few details have been released about the nature of his visit, but acting Undersecretary of the Air Force Dr. Jamie Morin is scheduled to make a stop at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base next week.
4th Fighter Wing officials confirmed this morning that Morin, who was appointed to the post by President Barack Obama in July, will be on the installation Monday to highlight the Air Force Small Business Program and deliver remarks about "small businesses' vital contributions to the nation's economic strength and long term national security."
The undersecretary will also recognize "exceptional base-level performance on small business utilization" and present Air Force-level awards garnered by members of the 4th.
Morin is currently responsible for Department of the Air Force affairs on behalf of the secretary of the Air Force. His duties include organizing, training, equipping and providing for the welfare of its more than 333,000 active duty men and women, 178,000 Air National Guard and the Air Force Reservists, 182,000 civilians, and their families. He also oversees the Air Force's annual budget of more than $110 billion and serves as acting secretary of the Air Force in the secretary's absence.
