Shriners' Fall Ceremonial to be Nov. 16-18

Sudan Shriners Potentate Steve Norris has announced that the fraternity's annual Fall Ceremonial will be held in Dunn on Nov. 16- 18
A Shrine Ceremonial is an event where members and their families gather to welcome new members, transact business and celebrate their accomplishments. Sudan Shriners hold their ceremonials in January, May, September, and November of each year.
This year's Fall Ceremonial will kick off on Nov. 16 with the Sudan Shriners hosting a casual evening of fellowship for members at the Dunn Shrine Club. Several Shrine Clubs and units have volunteered to cook and provide food for the event.
Nov. 17 will bring the popular Shriners Parade through the streets in Dunn. Units including the world famous Dunn Clowns, Drum & Bugle Corps, miniature trucks and cars, horses, hillbillies, animated animals and many other entertaining shrine units will entertain.
News media will be attending this year's event on Saturday, Nov. 17 as Sudan Shriners publicize their goals and objectives to the public.
The prerequisite for membership into the Shrine is membership in Freemasonry, perhaps the oldest fraternity known to mankind.

Since the first Shriners Hospital opened in 1922, the health care system has improved the lives of more than 1 million children. Sudan Shriners currently have 660 patients receiving care. Sudan is one of the largest of the 195 temples in the world with approximately 6,000 members.
