To honor those who have served in America's military, the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher is offering free admission to all visitors Sunday. It will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Visitors will have the opportunity to touch a live shark in the new bamboo shark exhibit and come face to face with an alligator and meet albino alligator Luna in the Cape Fear Conservatory.

Or discover North Carolina's fiercest predator at the Megalodon exhibit and talk to a scuba diver in the Cape Fear Shoals.

You can also climb on the springy cables of the new adventure reef or see a loggerhead sea turtle swim in the turtle talk exhibit.

If you get the munchies while at the aquarium, the SharkBites snack bar, located on the food deck outside the gift shop, offers a variety of food and drinks such as nachos and cheese, pretzels, popcorn, chips, mixed fruit, chicken tenders, miniature corn dogs, fish and chips, pizza, deli sandwiches, burgers, subs, tossed salad, and frozen yogurt and ice cream. It's open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There are also vending machines on the food deck and outside the garden exit gates. Water fountains are located throughout the aquarium.

The aquarium is located 15 miles south of Wilmington on U.S. 421 near Kure Beach, less than a mile from the Fort Fisher ferry terminal.

For more information, call the aquarium at 1-800-832-3474 or log onto www.ncaquariums.com.
