Two Wayne County events have been moved inside this weekend and a third has been canceled due to concerns about inclement weather.

The Cliffs of the Neuse State Park Trunk-or-Treat program has been canceled for Saturday night due to forecasts that show a near 100 percent chance of precipitation across eastern North Carolina.

Downtown, Jazz on George won't be on George Street this year as the performances will instead be held at the Arts Council of Wayne County building located at the corner of John and Walnut streets, beginning at 1 p.m. and running until 4 p.m.

The Community Soup Kitchen Really Chili Challenge has been moved across town and will be held at the Goldsboro Family YMCA in the gym there.

Tasters are still invited to sample chili for $5, although teams now will have the option of preparing their chili at home. Tasting for the public begins at 11 a.m. and will run until 2 p.m.

Teams wanting to cook on-site can still arrive at 8 a.m. while those preparing their chili elsewhere are asked to be at the event at 9 p.m.

Team captains should be contacted by Friday evening with more details about changes.
