The "Cute Kids of Wayne County" calendar contest sponsored by The Partnership for Children of Wayne County was a rousing success, organizers say.
"Very exciting things are happening with the calendar," Whitney Jansta, community services coordinator for the Partnership, said this week.
"The 12 winners have all received their photo shoot in historic places around Wayne County. They turned out great."
Photos were taken by Brenna Wolf. Locations included Cliffs of the Neuse, downtown areas of Fremont and Pikeville, Veteran's Memorial, the steps of City Hall, Herman Park, Goldsboro High School, Old Waynesborough, Mount Olive Kids World park, Royall Avenue Fire Department, Goldsboro Fire Department and a country store in Eureka.
Twelve children from the area were selected to be featured on the 2013 calendar, Mrs. Jansta said. But all 75 kids entered in the contest will be featured somewhere in the publication, she added.
"It has been a huge success," she said of the fundraiser, which benefits programs at the Partnership. "We have raised quite a lot of votes and sponsorships so far. We're definitely going to do this again next year."
The calendars are currently on sale, at $10 each.
"Right now we're taking pre-orders for them and will have them in our office by mid-October," Mrs. Jansta said. "You can pre-order them on our website, www.pfcw.org/ cutekids and purchase them through PayPal or give us a call and charge them."
The Partnership number is (919) 735-3371.
