PIKEVILLE -- The mayor wasn't in attendance.
Neither was the town attorney.
And two other members of the board were no-shows, too.
But the rest of the Pikeville Town Board -- Todd Anderson, Charles Hooks and Lyman Galloway -- went into closed session Saturday morning anyway to discuss "property acquisition" as it relates to the proposed construction of a new town hall.
The members of the board did not say what was discussed during the closed session -- or why the meeting was held without Mayor Johnny Weaver or the other two members of the board.
But when they opened the meeting back up to the public, those who were there said that Monday at 5:30 p.m. there would be a workshop to develop an information sheet detailing the two properties the board is considering for Pikeville's permanent Town Hall.
