Disablity group seeks award nominations

The North Carolina Council on Developmental Disabilities has issued a call for nominations for its Hefner Award, an honor presented to an outstanding state resident who has a record of accomplishment in promoting a great quality of life for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Nominations for the NCCDD award, open to individuals with disabilities or family members, will be accepted through Monday, Oct. 1.
The award honors Jack B. Hefner, who served the organization for 22 years until his death in 1994.
