Suspect sought in double murder

Goldsboro police continued their search today for the suspect in a double murder Friday night.
Lawmen were looking for Angelo Mandril Burden, 38, of 1307 E. Walnut St., who is being sought in connection with the death of Donald Lee Mewborn, 47, of 902 Newsome St. and Gary Devon Buckom, 50, of 903 Marvin St.
Burden is described as black, 38 years old, 6 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 260 pounds.
The bodies of Mewborn and Buckom have been sent to the state Medical Examiners Office in Chapel Hill for autopsies.
Mewborn was found shot to death about 10 p.m. Friday in the front yard of 1013 Devereaux St. Buckom was found, also shot to death, in the backyard of 1010 Devereaux St.
Investigators offered no new information Monday but police said they were working diligently on the case.
